6 Motivation Tips When You’re Feeling Depressed

Emotional Success
1. Count Your Blessings
We dont do this enough. I personally look at everything that has been made possible to me, and wonder how in the world could all this have happened. I cannot but feel blessed and happy. I may still look forward to so much more, but that cannot devalue what I already have.
2. Help another Human
This gives me immense joy, pride and loads of positivity. Being able to assist, in the smallest way makes one's own worries seem a little distant. The gratitude, that genuine warmth that flows from another human's soul to you, will soothe you. Help.
3. Start something new
Just the act of thinking of starting something new, makes me feel alive. I typically start envisaging the grand success, the accolades, the awards and the acceptance speeches. Then the dread follows. What to do, how to do it, who to talk to, what could go wrong etc. All this takes me away from my current state of mind.
4. Watch kids playing the park
Simply a joyful activity. The silly rules, the sillier fights and the laugh. The infectious, heart warming, deeply right laugh!
5. Listen to your pep up music
I have tracks that are specifically for my pep. These tracks are typically hi-tempo and are chosen coz, the first time I heard these, I felt good. I felt energized, alive and ready to go.
Create your own such compilation or if you are really creative, create your own music
6. Cook
Cooking is either sheer pleasure or a very tough chore. Either way it will keep you & your thoughts occupied and focused. People around will be delighted and worst-case scenario is that you may have to eat your own cooking (if no one else will). You will look up a recipe, get the ingredients organized, follow a prescribed methodology, monitor the progress, make adjustments, personalize the dish and then present. Cooking could be a blueprint for any project in life!
